As development continues, we've made an important change to DREADVEIL's progression system. Our original plan was 30 COVENANT Prestiges. After further development and consideration, we decided that COVENANT should represent something far more significant.
VEILMARK
VEILMARK will remain the primary Prestige system. Players will progress through 30 VEILMARKS, and each VEILMARK contains 100 Levels.
Once you complete Level 100, you can advance into the next VEILMARK, returning to Level 1 and beginning the next stage of your progression. Every VEILMARK is meant to take you another step deeper into your journey.
COVENANT
COVENANT is different. Instead of 30 COVENANT Prestiges, there will now be only 7 COVENANTS across the entire progression system.
The 7 COVENANTS are spread across the 30 VEILMARKS as major progression milestones. You won't earn a new COVENANT every time you enter a new VEILMARK. Reaching one is meant to be a much rarer achievement that marks a significant point in your overall progression.
Earning a COVENANT
Only 7 of the 30 VEILMARKS will hold a COVENANT. When you reach Level 100 in one of those VEILMARKS, you'll face a choice:
- Prestige right away and move on to the next VEILMARK, leaving that COVENANT behind.
- Keep going from Level 100 to Level 200 and earn the COVENANT when you reach Level 200.
Choose carefully. If you prestige without earning a COVENANT, it's gone forever. You can't go back to that VEILMARK, and that COVENANT can't be unlocked again.
The progression hierarchy
LEVEL → VEILMARK → COVENANT
- Levels track your progress within your current VEILMARK.
- VEILMARKS are the main Prestige journey.
- COVENANTS are the largest milestones within that journey.
Why we made this change
With only 7 COVENANTS across 30 VEILMARKS, each COVENANT can have its own identity, presentation, rewards and significance. We want reaching a new COVENANT to feel like an event, not just another number on your profile.
This change makes the highest levels of progression more meaningful while keeping the long-term grind and prestige journey DREADVEIL is being built around.
