Devlog: Climb, and So Can They

· Morvek Studio

Most round-based zombies games keep you on the ground. In DREADVEIL, you can climb buildings. So can the horde. Climbing is in development, and the details below may change before launch.

Climb buildings

When the streets fill up, you can go up. Climbing lets you get off the ground and above the fight, and it's part of how DREADVEIL lets you move in any direction.

High ground isn't safe ground

Zombies can climb too, and they won't just follow you up the wall.

Seeing and hearing you is only part of it. The horde has another way of closing in, and we'll reveal it later.

Once they've found you, they don't come from one direction. They come from every direction.

Stop and shoot

You don't have to finish a climb to fight back. You can stop mid-climb and shoot, holding your position on the wall while the horde closes in. Just don't stay up there too long.

Part of 360° movement

Climbing joins sprinting, sliding and diving in any direction as part of DREADVEIL's movement. We'll go deeper on the rest of it in an upcoming devlog.

What's next

We'll show climbing in action closer to launch. Until then, create an account or sign up for early updates to reserve your player name and hear first about playtests.
