Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Morvek Studio ("we") collects on morvekstudio.com, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only. The DREADVEIL game will have its own terms and privacy notice when it launches.

What we collect

When you create an account

Your email address, player name, the platform you chose (if any), when you joined and last logged in. If you use a password, we store only a scrambled version (a salted hash) that can't be turned back into your password. If you continue with Google, Google tells us your email address and a Google account ID; we don't get your Google password or contacts.

If you sign up with Steam or Epic Games, we don't receive an email address; you can add one on your account page.

If you link a platform account or sign in with Steam or Epic Games, we store its account ID and public display name (for Steam, your SteamID and Steam profile name; for Epic Games, your Epic account ID and display name) so your progress can follow you across platforms. Steam never shares your Steam password with us. You can unlink at any time on your account page.

When you're logged in, your browser keeps a sign-in cookie for up to 30 days. It's needed for your account to work, and we don't use any other cookies.

When you sign up for early updates

Your email address, the platform you chose (if any), and the date you signed up.

When you send a support message

Your name, email address, topic, platform (if any), your message, and the date.

To stop spam

We store a one-way scrambled code made from your network address for up to one day, to limit how many forms one sender can submit. We cannot turn it back into your address.

Visit counts

Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits for us without cookies and without following you across other sites.

We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies, and we don't sell or share your information.

How we use it

• To run your account: sign-in, your reserved player name and your Founding Survivor badge.
• To send early updates, announcements and playtest invites to people who chose to receive them.
• To answer support, business and press messages.
• To keep the site's forms free of spam.

Where it's kept

The website and its database run on Cloudflare. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your network address when your browser fetches them. We keep accounts until you ask us to delete them, update sign-ups until you unsubscribe, and support messages for up to two years.

Your choices

Every news email will include a way to unsubscribe, and you can turn email updates off on your account page. You can also ask us to show, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time by emailing support@morvekstudio.com.

Children

Accounts and email updates are for people aged 13 or older. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, email us and we'll delete their details.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
